Uplifting the voices that have been challenged, silenced, and resiliently heard, Pride & Unprejudiced is a bold, multidisciplinary concert celebrating the joy and power of free expression. Through music and storytelling, the Denver Feminist Chorus amplifies the voices of LGBTQIA+ communities, people of color, and women writers that have been censored or challenged. Featuring choral works inspired by banned queerness and history, like “Gender Queer,” “The Bluest Eye,” and “Fun Home,” Pride & Unprejudiced will also feature story hour readings by two iconic local performers, Miss Zarah Misdemeanor and Sister Cas Kara, with the House of Perpetual Joy (kids encouraged onstage)!
Pricing – $23-28 (including fee)
Book Drive for Mercy Housing
Ticket holders are encouraged to bring books during our Pride & Unprejudiced concerts. The DFC book drive will be shared with Mercy Housing communities across the Denver metro area, including after-school programs, senior housing, and individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.
Mercy Housing is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit providers of affordable, service-enriched housing. The organization creates stable, vibrant communities by developing and operating housing for families, seniors, and people with special needs who lack access to safe, quality homes. More than 43,000 residents nationwide call Mercy Housing home, including 5,600 in the Mountain Plains region. In addition to affordable housing, Mercy Housing offers on-site services such as health support, youth programs, financial education, and community-building activities to help residents achieve long-term stability.
