Amy Beres Named Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Arts Association

Rocky Mountain Arts Association News

Amy Beres has been named Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Arts Association (RMArts), Colorado’s oldest and largest LGBTQIA+ performing arts organization and the umbrella organization for the Denver Feminist Chorus and Denver Gay Men’s Chorus.

Amy brings more than 12 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a background in building and leading social justice organizations at the statewide, regional and neighborhood levels. Most recently, she served at The Fax Partnership, a Denver-based organization supporting people who live and work along the East Colfax corridor.

“We are proud to welcome Amy to the Rocky Mountain Arts Association family,” said Marcus Turner, RMArts Board President. “Amy’s deep roots in nonprofit leadership, fund development and community organizing, combined with her focus on equity, justice and celebrating diversity through arts and cultural engagement, are among the many attributes that make her an ideal leader for our organization.”

As Executive Director, she will cultivate and deepen relationships with a range of stakeholders to meet contributed revenue and fundraising goals, serve as a liaison to community organizations, and build and sustain strong, impactful partnerships.  Additionally, she’ll work closely with artistic leadership, RMArts Board and staff on  day-to-day operations, fiscal management and uphold the organization’s values, mission, vision, and short-and long-term goals.

Amy’s work is grounded in the belief that strong, inclusive organizations are foundational to social change.

“It’s an honor to build on 45 years of RMArts’ history and lead the organization as it enters its next chapter,” Amy said.  “I have a lifelong love of the arts, and believe it is one of the things that most sustains and connects us.”

RMArts opened a search for a new executive director earlier this year. A committee composed of Board members, Chorus Council members, singers and staff participating in the process.
